Champ Show Results and Critiques

5th August 2012

Firstly I would like to thank the committee of the club for inviting me to officiate at the show. My journey from South Africa was long but it was worth every mile. I was collected from the airport by Lyn Powell (committee member) where I stayed for the duration of my visit. I would like to thank Lyn for all her kindness, hospitality and doing a great job of chauffeur. Overall I believe the dogs were of better quality than bitches, top line and angulation are something to watch carefully as with eye colour. We should also take inbto consideration weight and fitness, let's remember they are supposed to be able to do a good day's work.

No entries.

Class 8 Post Graduate Dog (3,0)

RCC, slightly immature at side of CC winner but definitely will hold his own very soon. RCC.

VHC Not awarded.

Class 10 Open Dog (5,1)
1st Koroknai's Multi Ch Bottomshaker My Secret - what can I say, he epitomises the breed, a total pleasure to handle and watch, he could easily do a day's work and so very happy, he just never stopped wagging his tail. Strongest of head with good eye, square jaw and correct dentition. Well angulated shoulders, short coupled with excellent spring of ribs and deep brisket, super bend of stifle and well let down hock which he used on the move. Coat of excellent texture and colour. Presented to perfection, personally prefer not quite so trimmed but this did not take anything away from the dog. Just love him. CC and BIS

2nd Gould's Kerjalee Hot Toddy At Sutranzo - super dog with so much to like, unfortunate to compete against my winner. Good head, dark eye, well laid back shoulder, deep brisket, well angulated, coat of good colour and texture, needed to settle on the move.

Res Kanales, Backhouse & Bushell's Ch Aryakas Ikaros At Noggybanks.

1st Hodgson's Jeddep Katwalk Kikki At Ragglebarn - super little bitch, very old fashioned type, everything in the right place. Strong head, good eye, correct teeth, short muzzle, well laid back shoulders, short coupled, well angulated which could be seen on the move, coat maturing nicely. One to watch for the future.

2nd Bailey's Zottels Xquisitely Made - I just loved her shape and type when she walked into the ring. Everything in the right place just not settled on the day. Should have a very bright future, one I will watch.

Res Leggett's Meldale Moon Dance

Class 14 Yearling Bitch (2,1)

1st Gould's Kerjalee Makes The Moments For Sutranzo Ir Jnr Ch - feminine bitch with lovely outline. Good head, dark eye and strong jaw with correct dentition. Good neck with well laid back shoulder, nice spring to ribs, short coupled, would have preferred to see stronger movement. Nicely presented.

2nd Harris & Grover's Beauvallon Sweetheart - larger type than one but has everything in the right place. Coat darker in colour but with correct texture. I believe these two bitches will swap placing often.

3rd Bull's Valleydell Jezebel.

Res Oakes' Oldoak New Tricks

VHC Sculthorpe's Greyfell Dance Again.`

Class 19 Open Bitch (4,0)
1st Mills' Kerjalee Mistical Moments - the last time I saw this little bitch in the ring was 3 years ago, loved her then and have to say she has matured into everything I would want in a bitch. For me she typifies the breed standard. So feminine, standing 4 square, good head, darkest of eye, excellent dentition, fabulous reach of neck, correct angulation both on shoulder and stifle, good bone, deep brisket and one of a very few with correct topline and the correct pear shape, she could easily do a day's work. O what a pleasure to see her move, one of the strongest on the day. CC and RBIS.

2nd Harris' Aryakas Genesis At Beauvallon JW - larger type than my winner. Good head, eye and teeth, nice neck into well angulated shoulder, excellent spring of ribs, decent topline, good coat of darker colour and having correct texture, short coupled and strong hock, moved with drive. RCC
